The REGIO TRATTURO & FRIENDS is back for a second magical edition!

From July 30th to August 1st, prepare yourselves for the most sparkling weekend of the summer 2010 made in Italy...

REGIO TRATTURO and FRIENDS is an alternative to the usual, boring, repetitive weekend spent in a city or by the sea. The agenda is full of new surprises and unforgettable events. Friends from all over Europe will meet in the warm Irpinia countryside to spend a weekend immersed in the Italian traditional gastronomy, folk music, and traditions. This unique experience takes place within an historical environment, near one of the oldest streets of Italy, the Regio Tratturo, also known as the great "green grass".

Prepare your sleeping bag and outdoor mattress, a tent to share amongst friends and pack everything with a great desire to have fun and relax!

Do not forget to also invite your friends and family!

PROGRAM:

Friday

18:00 - 20:00 Accommodation in tents

Regio Tratturo & Friends official opening

20:00 – 24.00 Dinner under the moonlight among the olive trees of the Regio Tratturo Agritourism "Awaken your senses with authentic Italian cuisine". Traditional live music all night long.

Saturday

9:00 - 10.00 Breakfast with fresh cow milk, jam, homemade biscuits, bread, salami and much more.

10:00 – 11.30 Excursion on the Regio Tratturo – discover the traditions of the ancient shepherds by participating in cheese making activities and tasting of fresh mozzarella

11:30 to 14:00 Cooking Competition - Participants can join one of the four groups:
- Oven-cooked crunchy chicken with potatoes
- Baked pizzas, bagels and bread
- Hand made pasta (Cicatielli) with tomato sauce
- Jam tarts
(Each group is responsible for finding the necessary ingredients by going into the field, orchard, and stables to look for them. New this year will be the milling of wheat to produce flour needed for our yummy dishes)

14:00 – 16.00 Lunch with the ‘Best dishes of the weekend’

16:00 - 16.30 Awards ceremony

16:30 to 19:00 Afternoon Entertainment:
- Sports activities: football and bowls
- Construction of wooden arrows and practising of archery
- Visit the wind farm by bike
- Course of tarantella, to prepare for the long night ahead!
- Visit of the bee hives and honey extraction;

20.00 Dinner – Farmer\\\'s menu (pasta and beans; potatoes, sausage and peppers; watermelon), accompanied with fine red wines produced by the Regio Tratturo Agritourism

- An evening of traditional live music - tarantella, and tammurriate - all night long;

Sunday - August 1

10:00 to 11:00 Breakfast

11:00 to 13:00 Visit of the historic center of Ariano Irpino and tour of the majolica laboratories (typical ceramics from Ariano Irpino)

13:00 to 16:00 Lunch

16:00 to 18:00 Departure
How much does it cost?

The cost of the entire weekend is € 100. Reservations should be made by bank transfer (send us an email to info@regiotratturo.com and we will send to you all the relevant information).

How to get on the farm?

The nearest airports are those of Naples, Rome and Bari. Book your flight as soon as possible as the prices may go up!

Trains departing from Rome, Naples and Bari stop at the Ariano Irpino station or Benevento (the nearest station) from which a shuttle service is available

The last train from Rome to Benevento leaves at 16:00 (don’t miss it!).

If you are a group of 4/5 people, we suggest you to rent a car at the airport.

30 luglio-1 agosto: il weekend più frizzante dell\\\'estate 2010 made in Italy!

Il Regio Tratturo & Friends è un’alternativa unica al solito weekend di città o di mare; il programma si prospetta ricco di nuovi eventi e di sorprese indimenticabili. Amici da tutta Europa approderanno nella calda e briosa Irpinia per trascorrere insieme un weekend all\\\'insegna di gastronomia, folklore, usi e costumi su uno dei sentieri più antichi d\\\'Italia, il Regio Tratturo, la grande "via d\\\'erba".

Uno scenario d’altri tempi, per un weekend d’altri tempi !!!

Non dimenticate di invitare anche i vostri più cari amici.

Venerdi - 30 Luglio

18.00 – 20.00 Sistemazione nelle tende,

Aperitivo di inaugurazione Regio Tratturo & Friends,

20.00 – 24.00 Cena al chiaro di luna tra gli olivi dell’agriturismo Regio Tratturo. “Stuzzica i sensi mangiando con gusto”.Musiche popolari di organetti e tammorre fino a notte fonda.
Sabato - 31 Luglio

8.00 – 9.00 Colazione con latte fresco di vacca, confetture, biscotti caserecci, pane, salumi e altro ancora.

9.00 – 11.00 Escursione sul Regio Tratturo – Nei panni dei pastori; cagliata sui pascoli e assaggio della juncata.

11.30 – 14.00 Gara di cucina – I partecipanti possono partecipare a uno dei 4 gruppi:
- pollo al forno con patate
- pizze al forno, taralli e pane
- cicatielli al pomodoro
- crostate di marmellate
(ogni piatto si produrrà procurandosi gli ingredienti direttamente all’origine; andando nell’orto, nel pollaio, nel frutteto; novità di quest’anno sarà il mulino a pietra per macinare la farina; per finire prima!;-))

14.00 – 16.00 Pranzo e votazioni del piatto migliore

16.00 – 16.30 Premiazione

16.30 – 19.00 Intrattenimenti pomeridiani:
- Attività sportive: calcio e bocce
- costruzione di frecce di legno e tiro con l’arco
- Visita ai parchi eolici in bici
- Corso di tarantella, prepariamoci per la lunga notte !!!
- Visita agli alveari e smielatura;

20.00 Cena - Menu contadino (pasta e fagioli, patate, peperoni e salsiccia, anguria) accompagnato da ottimi vini rossi dell’agriturismo Regio Tratturo

- Serata di musiche popolari - tarantelle, tammorre e tammurriate - per tutta la notte;

Domenica - 1 Agosto

11.00 – 13.00 Visita del centro storico di Ariano Irpino con visita guidata ai laboratori di maioliche

13.00 – 16.00 Pranzo

Come arrivare all’Agriturismo Regio Tratturo?

Gli aeroporti piu vicini sono quelli di Napoli, Roma e Bari. Organizzeremo mini-bus per gruppi di almeno 15 persone che partiranno dai rispettivi aeroporti alle ore 18:00. Prenota subito il tuo volo, potrebbe costarti di più a pochi giorni dalla partenza !!!
La stazione dei treni più vicina è quella di Ariano Irpino o Benevento (navetta disponibile per almeno 5 persone). L’ultimo treno da Roma per Benevento parte alle ore 16:00
